274Key trading rules
The rules that shape every Alpha Capital evaluation, condensed to one line per item.
Fee refund policy
Alpha Capital does not refund the challenge fee. Treat the evaluation cost as a one-time purchase.
Why traders fail Alpha Capital challenges
The most common failure causes are tied directly to Alpha Capital's rule set — here are the ones to plan around before paying for an evaluation.
- 1
Breaching the absolute balance drawdown
Alpha Capital enforces a drawdown limit on the account balance. Traders typically breach it by oversizing — a single trade that goes against them is enough.
Tip: Cap your risk per trade so a stop-out never approaches the daily or max loss line.
- 2
Failing the consistency rule
Alpha Capital enforces a consistency rule (The on-demand payout option includes a 40% consistency rule requirement and a minimum of 2% gross profit). One outsized winning day can disqualify the run even if the profit target is hit.
Tip: Spread profit across multiple sessions — don't double down once you're up. Smaller, repeatable winners pass the rule cleanly.
- 3
News trading violations
Alpha Capital restricts trading around major news. A position held through a release can void the entire account.
Tip: Flatten exposure 5+ minutes before high-impact releases. Use an economic calendar — don't rely on memory.
Who Alpha Capital fits
Good fit if you trade like this:
- Swing traders — positions can be held over the weekend.
- Algorithmic and EA traders — automation is permitted.
Look elsewhere if any of these apply:
- News-event traders — releases are off-limits or heavily restricted.
- High-variance traders relying on a single big day — the consistency rule will block the pass.
- Scalpers — short-hold strategies aren't permitted.
